January T.O.U.G.H. Students of the Month
My apologies for neglecting to share this out sooner, but congrats to our January T.O.U.G.H. students of the month!!
Alayna Shifflett is the student of the month for the Class of 2027. Mrs. Ozman nominated Alayna for going above and beyond. Mrs. Ozman said: “Alayna goes above and beyond in everything she does. She is intrinsically motivated, pays attention to detail, seeks feedback so she can revise her writing, is always on time and prepared, and is kind to others. She is a talented writer and deep thinker. I am so glad I got to have her as a student this semester!” So far, Alayna’s English teacher Mrs. Ozman has been her favorite because “I enjoy writing and Mrs. Ozman is a very supportive and helpful teacher.” After her time at CRHS, Alayna wants to go to college to study forensic science. She definitely knows what it means to be Colonel TOUGH. She comments: “To be Colonel TOUGH means to be dedicated to being the best version of yourself in school. Going above and beyond is the most important part for me because it is a key factor to success.”
FUN FACT: Alayna loves to bake!
Landon Clark is the student of the month for the Class of 2026. Ms. Towers sent in Landon’s name, saying: “Landon has worked hard to obtain his goals in Government! He has come a long way since the beginning of the semester! Way to go, Landon!” Landon’s favorite teacher has been Ms. Towers because “she would do her best to push me to do better.” After CRHS, Landon wants to either go to college or go into construction. For Landon, being TOUGH means “just accepting everyone and respecting everyone.” He commented that the most important aspect is to show that you understand diversity!
FUN FACT: Landon wants to become a marine biologist!
Luna Infante Reyes is the student of the month for the Class of 2025. Luna was recognized by Mrs. Burkett, who said: “ Luna is a star at Colonel! She is kind, respectful, intelligent, passionate, funny, eclectic, and fun! Luna earned an exemplary grade in all of her Semester 1 classes and has OVER a 4.0 GPA. She is hardworking and dedicated and definitely exhibits what it means to be TOUGH every single day!” Luna’s favorite teacher has been Ms. Atchison because “she is always there for me even when I’m not in her class.” While she might not know exactly what the future holds, Luna knows that she wants to attend college. When it comes to being TOUGH, Luna knows that it all comes down to being “kind and respectful to those around you.”
FUN FACT: Luna knows how to make a balloon dog!
Victoria Clark is the student of the month for the Class of 2024. Victoria was nominated by Mr. Blanchfield for obtaining goals in Strength and Conditioning. He said: “Victoria has been working really hard on improving her fitness levels. I am so proud of the GB (Getting Better) efforts Victoria has brought to class. Keep up the great work! #NotAverage.” In her time at CRHS, Victoria has most enjoyed her teaching academy classes. She says: “Our program has formed a tight bond and is like family, they always know how to put a smile on my face!” Empathy is an important part of TOUGH-ness for Victoria, who comments, “To me, being Colonel Tough means, always being kind to one another, you never know what someone is going through.” After graduation, Victoria plans to go to college and earn a degree in Nursing.
FUN FACT: Victoria has a corgi named Sidney!
