Advisory Council meetings are once a month (usually the first Tuesday) from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Childcare is available for school-aged students through our awesome AlphaBEST staff members. The committee will be meeting only 4 more times this year and will be discussing things like budget, staffing, school programs, future focuses, and more. The main purpose is to advise school personnel and ask questions so we can be transparent about the many layers of supporting each and every student in our school. If you are interested, please email me at baldwisl@pwcs.edu
National School Counseling Week (February 4-8)
National School Counseling Week 2019 (#NSCW19) is Feb. 4–8, 2019. The week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and the tremendous impact they can have in helping students achieve school success, both academically and socially, as well as plan for a career. Take a moment to thank our awesome school counselors, Mrs. Vaneman and Mrs. Schenck, some time this week.

Kindergarten Registration Dates Announced
Parents of children who will enter kindergarten next school year should make note of two important dates. Kindergarten registration will be held at Haymarket Elementary School at the following times:
Thursday, April 4th
10:00 am - 3:00 pm
(closed 12:00pm -12:30pm for lunch)
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Thursday, April 11th
10:00 pm – 3:00 pm
(closed 12:00pm -12:30pm for lunch)
If you can't make these dates, please call Mrs. Kennedy at 703-468-2800 to make an appointment. It is important to make every effort to register on one of these registration days so we have an idea of how many new kindergartners we will have and how big our classes will be.
When parents of children who speak or understand a language other than English register their child, they will be asked to call Central Registration at Stonewall Middle School to make an appointment for an English Language evaluation.
