Liberty Park Elementary School Newsletter
Friday, December 18th
Dear Liberty Park Families,
As our first semester of the school year has come to an end, I just want to thank each of you for your continued support of Liberty Park! This year has been like no other! I am so incredibly proud of ALL of our students and staff for the great work they have done this first semester!
As we begin our winter break, please use these next two weeks to just take a breather and relax and enjoy! Our winter break begins now and goes through Sunday, January 3. Students will return to school beginning on Monday, January 4. As a reminder, all K-5 students will remain VIRTUAL through at least Friday, January 15th.
Learning Option Change Requests Forms for students in grades K-5th grade will be available for families on Dec. 30. Each K - 5th grade school will have a link on their home school webpage where families can communicate their desire for next semester. If you are an traditional IN-PERSON family or a fully VIRTUAL family this is your opportunity to let us know how you would like to end the school year.
For example, if you would like your student to return to traditional IN-PERSON instruction for the remainder of the school year, you would fill out the Learning Option Change Request Form and select “traditional IN-PERSON”. If you are a traditional IN-PERSON family who would like to move to fully VIRTUAL for the remainder of the school year, you would select “fully VIRTUAL”. This form will be available from December 30 through 3:00pm on January 8.
Our food distribution will continue to take place over winter break. Distribution sites are Moorhead Community Resource Center, Warren Central High School, Creston, Raymond Park, and Stonybrook. Multiple meals will be provided at each distribution, and our winter break meals will have a special treat included.
Distribution dates are as follows:
Friday, December 18 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Tuesday, December 22 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Tuesday, December 29 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm
We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing everyone next year! As always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary! Take care, be safe, and have a great winter break!
Your Principal,
Jason Brooks

Virtual Support
It’s important for you to know how to get support if needed.
If you have any academic needs, you can access the following supports:
Contact your child's teacher(s) for support. Teacher contact information is available on our school’s website under the Explore Tab, then select STAFF.
Contact Mrs. Tapper our school counselor, Mrs. Hench our Dean, or myself.
Visit our district website's transition to virtual learning page for more information and resources.
Counseling Services
Mrs. Tapper, our school counselor, is available to support all of our Liberty Park students. A student may be referred to the school counselor by a parent/guardian, staff member or the student may refer themselves. Services provided by the school counselor through this referral process include individual and group counseling as well as informal check ins. Confidentiality is maintained at all times when meeting with the school counselor unless the child gives permission to share information or if the child says they are planning to hurt themselves, someone else or that someone has hurt them. It is the objective that all students will build healthy relationships and be successful at school. This occurs when students, families and the school are working together.
If you are interested in counseling services for your child, please click here for the link to complete the referral form for Mrs. Tapper. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Warren Township Parent and Caregiver Resource Page
The Warren Township Parent and Caregiver Resource Page has been updated to share information on our learning management system, accessing student information via ParentVue and a few other topics on how we connect our families with their student's learning.
School Pictures
School pictures are in! You may come to the LP office between 8:00 - 3:00pm Monday - Friday to pick up your child’s pictures. For those who did not order a package, Interstate Studios sent us a proof of your child. You may pick those up in the office, and place your order online through Interstate Studios.
You can also review and order your child's pictures online using this website and code:
1. Visit inter-state.com/order
2. Enter school code: 51322EA
If you don’t make it in, don’t worry. We will give your pictures to your child’s teacher for distribution when students return to school in-person.
Parent VUE Portal
Synergy has a ParentVUE portal that parents can use to monitor students grades, attendance and discipline. Parents can view their students "Warren Password" on the ParentVUE Student Info tab. Parents can click on Student Info and then scroll to the bottom of the page. They will see their students' passwords right below the bus information.

Student iPad Safety & Repairs
We are excited to provide students with technology to enhance their learning experiences in the MSD of Warren Township. Each student K-4 is assigned an iPad for virtual and in-person classroom use. Students are responsible for the proper care and use of their device. Each device is covered by a district-sponsored insurance program for damage. This keeps charges for both intentional and accidental damages low. Both purposeful and accidental damage will be charged at a reduced rate.
Repair ~Family Charge
1st-$5
2nd-$25
3rd-$50
More than 3-The actual cost of repair or $50
How does the district ensure student safety with the use of student devices?
Warren Township employs a variety of methods to manage student devices including Internet filtering, and application restrictions. Internet Filtering software collects information about the sites that students access. Whether a use is off task or appropriate depends on the time of day, the student’s schedule, and the teacher’s instructions. If a student attempts to access an inappropriate site, a notification is generated and the filtering software blocks the viewing of that site. Students are also taught about appropriate use and care for their devices by their classroom teachers. Specific age-appropriate lessons have been created for use with all students.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
