Vision:
To maximize the achievement of all Murphy students as they prepare for the future.
- At Murphy we're not just building things - we're building better people - in partnership with our families.
- We know that we are all strong individually but we are even stronger when we work together.
Here's a "tweet" I sent out from @MESPrincipalD (sidenote: look for cool stuff from Murphy on our Facebook page, too)
We had 50 families come out to join us and they had a blast! Just ask Mrs. Parker - her daughter got home and was launching cheese for their dog with her catapult :)

It's March is Reading Month!!
Bikes for Books!
A fun reading incentive! I spoke with Ramsey Coronado (cool name) from the Metamora Masons.
The Metamora Masons would like to do the same thing they did last year and give away one bike and helmet to one student at each grade level in honor of March is Reading Month.
The bikes will be delivered to the school on Monday, March 23rd so they can be displayed and they will be given away during an assembly on Friday, March 27th at 2:45 in the gym.
Additionally, they will be providing a class pizza party for the class with the greatest participation.
So...each student can:
- Earn one ticket each week in March for meeting their weekly home reading goal.
- The class with the highest percentage of students that meet their weekly reading goal for the month will win the pizza party.
You can support your child by encouraging them to read...becoming a better reader is the biggest prize!!
Congratulations to all of our Young Artists!

All LCS schools receive Section 31a funding.
The intent & purpose of Section 31a are to provide instructional and direct non-instructional support services for students to achieve regular school attendance, reading proficiency by the end of 3rd grade, mathematics proficiency by the end of 8th grade, and Career- and College-Readiness (CCR) by the end of 11th grade. The Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) structure is primary for Local Educational Agencies to achieve this.
MTSS must provide the following five components:
· Team-Based Leadership
· A Tiered Delivery System
· Selection and Implementation of Instruction, Interventions, and Supports
· A Comprehensive Screening and Assessment System
· Continuous data-Based Decision Making
