Reflections from Elder's Desk
There has been so much in the media about arming teachers with rifles and guns.
Outsiders must wonder if schools are safe and any fun.
I reminisce about the good old days.
Where students walked to school to learn and play.
Yearning to put their best foot forward in everything they did.
That was expected in the good old days for every kid.
Showing respect, love, and commitment were not a dream.
These qualities including character and values were held in high esteem.
I ponder if the school environment has turned for the worse.
Or if these perpetrators are under a curse.
At AMC, we will continue to be proactive, vigilant, and address.
Any situation that may be abnormal or cause a lot of stress.
Remember our students’ safety is our number one priority.
Together we will -- the police, deputies and their authority.
It takes all of us to keep AMC safe and secure.
So dial ext. 6000 if anything is ever obscure.
The good old days may be a thing of the past.
But remember your why and you will last.
Teaching is a calling and in times of uncertainty.
You are a difference maker so bring harmony.
