All Students
- If you are biologically male, and 18 years old, you need to register for the Selective Service within 30 days of turning 18. This is especially crucial if you have any desire to work for the government or need federal money to pay for school.
- Register to VOTE if you are 18. October 19th is the last day to register in order to vote in the November election!
- The FAFSA and CSS Profile are now available to complete. The FAFSA is necessary for any and all students entering college in Fall 2021. Even if you will not receive assistance, many schools require it to be completed for merit consideration as well. See below to register for the Completion Night on OCTOBER 8th.
Military (for students looking to enlist)
- If you need to retake the ASVAB, sign-up by telling Mrs. Wagner ASAP. The test is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11th.
- Talk to Mrs. Wagner about getting in touch with our local recruiters to learn about the benefits of joining the military, enlistment process, basic training, etc. If you are under 18 years old, you need permission from a parent/guardian to speak with the military if you want to meet with them individually at school.
- There are many ways to pay for your education through the military. If you are enlisting, after serving, you will be able to use the GI Bill. If you go through a ROTC program, most education costs are covered by the military and you also get a monthly stipend and money for books. If you go to school while on active duty, most branches provide assistance towards federal loan repayment.
Employment (for students looking to enter the workforce/full-time employment)
- Interested in Manufacturing? Learn about local companies this week on a virtual tour. Sign-up HERE before the event Wednesday (10/7) night!
- Make yourself a more marketable employee by earning an industry certification. Check-out the 700,000+ credentialing possibilities at CredentialFinder!
- Talk with Mrs. Wagner about your career goals and your desired industry. She gets a lot of calls from local businesses looking for employees.
College (for students looking to continue their education)
- If you have an IEP/504, and want the taste of the collegiate experience, talk to Mrs. Wagner about the Promoting Academic Success (PAS) Program offered by Penn College. This introduction to college is free and you earn 1 college credit after completion.
- The deadline for the November 7th SAT is October 7th ! Stop by the Counseling Office for a fee waiver if you receive free/reduced lunch. This waiver is also good for college application fees. Make sure you also send your scores to the colleges on your list!
- Remember your Raise.Me account? When students were in 9th grade they created an online account for a program that gives scholarship money for entering your grades, awards, and activities. Make sure to confirm the information by the colleges specified deadline - some are as early as October 15th!
- Pay attention to application deadlines. For example, Penn State University’s deadline is November 30th! Most colleges go on a 6-week winter break, so the sooner you apply, the sooner you find out (if rolling admissions). DO NOT GIVE ME PAPERWORK TO COMPLETE THE DAY BEFORE IT IS DUE!
- Thinking of playing a sport in college? Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. You need to make sure the courses you take in high school are NCAA eligible. Any SAT or ACT scores must also be sent to the NCAA. DO NOT PAY if you receive free/reduced lunch as there are fee waivers, but they cannot be undone once submitted.

A Note about Transcripts
A few weeks after graduation, I will AUTOMATICALLY send all final transcripts to the college you child indicated they are attending.
Note: Students can get copies of their transcript from me at anytime, without a request form, but they are considered unofficial.
Mrs. Wagner needs AT LEAST 1 WEEK to process paperwork! DO NOT WAIT!
