Yearbook Photos Needed
Got photos? Remember to upload your pictures to our Yearbook photo file share so we can capture those memories for our kids! We'll start putting together yearbook layout pages in the next couple months so upload them while you can!
Our amazing yearbook designer will be aging out of Cottage Lake this year. She's looking for an apprentice to help out with this year's edition and take over next year. Interested? Contact president@cottagelakepta.org to let us know.
Help Shape the Path for our School Community Garden
The CLE garden is growing! We’ve made major improvements over the last few years and there’s more to come. We'd like your feedback on the most impactful improvements for our school community moving forward. We’ve received a generous grant from the Whole Kids Foundation to improve accessibility for our student gardeners.
Please fill out this short survey and let us know how we can improve the functionality of the space. All ideas are welcome! Contact garden@cottagelakepta.org with questions.

Get Involved
We are 100% dependent on family volunteers. If we want to be able to keep hosting fun events and supporting our classrooms, we need your help!
PTA hosted events and sponsored school services that don't have volunteers step up to run them will have to be cancelled.
We've seen our volunteer numbers drop steeply in the last few years. Come help us build our community and have some fun while you're at it!
Whether you can spare an hour to help setup an event, pass out popcorn, or would like to step into a board position, everyone is welcome and appreciated.
More information can be found on the Cottage Lake PTA website or by contacting president@cottagelakepta.org.
Watch DOGS
Are you looking for a way to make an impact in your child’s life at school? Do you love dad jokes? Want to get to know your kid's friends, classmates and teachers while helping keep our school a positive place for learning?
WATCH D.O.G.S. is a national organization or parents who volunteer at least one day during the year in their child’s school. Cottage Lake Elementary is thrilled to have partnered with this organization and help provide an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school security, reduce bullying and provide a greater sense of campus safety allowing students and teachers to focus on learning and instruction. This can only be successful with your help.
Please sign up to be a WATCH D.O.G.S. during the 2023-2024 school year.
Popcorn Fridays are back!
Our next Popcorn Friday event is on January 19th. We're looking for a few volunteers to help make popcorn and hand it out to the kids. Popcorn is made on Thursdays and handed out on Fridays at 2nd recess. Popping takes about 3 hours and distributing takes about 1 1/2 hours, so this is a quick, low stress way to give back to the school.
Check out the SignUpGenius to grab a timeslot.

Paint and PJs
It was so fun seeing everyone dressed in their coziest attire, showing off their creativity! We had a great turnout and served over 200 cookies, 100 cups of cocoa, 20 cups of cider, and collected 126 works of art. We love seeing our Sailors come together at our community events. The masterpieces were delivered to classrooms just in time to make it home in time for winter break.
Thank you to Redmond Art Works and our volunteers who helped make Paint and PJs a huge success!
