Truitt Middle School
December 2018
Mission Statement
A message from our Principal, Ms. Garcia...
Dear Timberwolf Parents,
I can't believe the end of our first semester is near! The first half of the year has been successful - discipline issues have decreased and our test scores have improved. Our students have also benefited from our new Saturday School program.
For the new semester, we would like to remind students about the importance of wearing your badges and arriving to school on time. Students not wearing their permanent badge will receive a D-hall for that day. As a reminder, the cost of replacing the badge, sleeve and lanyard is $5.
I hope you all have a very Happy New Year!
Yvette Garcia

PBIS
Our positive behavior intervention is improving the atmosphere and environment of our entire school. We have PACK expectations throughout the campus, for the purpose of providing support for appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. Teaching expectations and reinforcing students when those are met is a more effective approach than simply reacting to misbehavior. The importance of implementing schoolwide PBIS and consistently using the system is to create an atmosphere in which appropriate behavior is the norm and followed by most. We have worked hard and the environment at Truitt reflects our successes.
We have made a great start at implementing our PACK expectations school-wide. Our students are all aware of the expectations for every Timberwolf. Now that we are approaching the end of a semester and the holidays, it is very important for all of us to continue to meet and exceed our expectations. We all need to do our part to keep Truitt on the road for success and integrity.
It is important for parents, students, and staff alike to remember that we are to have NO GUM, NO CANDY, NO FOOD outside of the cafeteria. If students have candy and food, it is to be secured until lunch when they can eat it. Gum should not be on school campus. Our school is newly remodeled, including carpet and floors. Please help us to take pride in our school by having discussions with your children about not bringing food out of the cafeteria and into hallways and classrooms.
Thanks to all who make great decisions daily!
Lunch Policy
Students will not be called to pick up lunch. Parents need to contact student to let them know lunch has been delivered. No UberEats or pizza delivery for students will be allowed.
Car Rider Line
- Right turns only when you are exiting the Truitt parking lot.
- Do not drop off students on Addicks Satsuma. This causes a dangerous situation for your student and for the cars around you.
- Please follow directions of the Truitt staff members on car rider duty.
- Please be aware of students getting out of cars.
Extracurricular Student Behavior
All students must follow the Timberwolf Guidelines:
1. All students must go home before returning to campus. Athletes and fine arts students will follow the guidelines from their coach or director.
2. In order to purchase your game day ticket at lunch, students must be wearing their ID badge. Students can not purchase tickets at the door unless they are with their parent.
3. Students attending school events must be wearing their badge at all times.
4. All students must stay in the appropriate area of the building.
6. Students who are not picked up 15 minutes after game time may lose the opportunity to participate in events in the future.
