CJH Weekly Update
Staff - Week of March 16th
Need to Know
Last week was unprecedented in many ways. I sincerely hope that this newsletter finds everyone well. I am so appreciative to work with a staff that is able to take a situation that is panic inducing and focus on what is best for our kids in the building. Each and every one of you were able to create virtual lessons in a very short amount of time, toss schedules aside and change how and what you do in a heartbeat. Not many professions can do that. Thank you for all that you did and continue to do for our students through this closure.
With that said, please know that if anyone is in need of any basic needs, please do not hesitate to reach out. We want to make sure all of our Coloma family is taken care of during this time.
ReCap
Below is just a recap of my Friday e-mail and our Friday staff meeting. If you have any questions, please reach out.
Teaching Expectations
- All teachers are expected to provide online learning or take home packets during the 3 week closure. This can be posted or provided in the way that you see fits your class best. We expect that lesson will be available for students no later than Wednesday, March 18th. The goal is not to necessarily move them forward but to continue to challenge and engage their brains.
- Please provide a master copy or pdf for us to copy for families that require paper packets.
- All teachers are expected to be available via e-mail, phone or google classroom between 8am - 3pm daily via their school device.
- You do not need to report to the building, but you are able to come in if needed. You may also meet in small groups to continue some of your PLC work if you so choose.
- You are not expected to work/be available during our regularly scheduled spring break.
- If you are invited to an IEP during the closure, you will be expected to participate virtually. You will receive a calendar invite and can participate through Google Hangouts. We will move any IEP's that we can, depending on their due dates.
Building Items
- Our building will be open during regular office hours during the 3 week closure with the exception of 3/20 and 3/27.
- Everything 6ft and below will be disinfected. Please make sure your classrooms are picked up to make this easier on our cleaning staff.
- Teachers needing Tech Support may reach out to Ben/Dan/Tonya/Mike via help desk tickets even during the time out and they will coordinate with you to provide assistance.
- Students needing tech support may report to the main offices.
School Meals
- The official Plan of how/when we will be feeding students during the closure will be coming on Monday. Shelley and Terry will be coordinating the effort.
- If a family reaches out to you that is in need, please let us know. We will be happy to make arrangements to deliver food or other needs.
Budget Worksheets Due March 20th
Just a reminder that your department Budget worksheets are due to me on March 20th. The form is available in the JH shared drive. Otherwise you can click the link here. Remember we are looking at essentially 3 lists what is the minimum amount that you need to remain viable, the amount to continue our current level of service, and your wish list.
Please be sure to consider large projects, equipment replacement, large supply orders and software licenses.
