2019- 2020 Volume 4
Current events
By Allison Shamus, 5th grader
Hi Bobcats! This week for current events we are going to talk about light up the night and spirit week!
This week we had a light up the night event! At 8:00 at night, lots of Bobcats put a light, maybe a candle or lamp outside their house. By doing this, Bobcats showed others to find hope and bring a little light to the world!
Way to inspire Bobcats!
Also, we had a fun spirit week! Bobcats showed their pride for their favorite team, wearing a sports jersey, or a t-shirt of their team- it was supportive! Dressed up in very wacky outfits, doing their hair all crazy, mismatched outfits- wacky day was funny! Also, we had lots of twins running around, looking like each other! And Bobcats had fun wearing their pajamas all day- how cozy! In all, Bobcats had a great and fun spirit week!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK - PIZZA DUMPLINGS
By Melissa Hertell, 5th Grader
Pizza Dumplings
Pizza dumplings are definitely my favorite when it comes down to savory treats. It can be tricky but the reward is beyond good. So first you want to find a recipe for pizza dough online or if you have one in a cookbook that's also fine. So finding a perfect pizza dough recipe can be very tricky so it might take awhile searching online. So I recommend you do this the night before with your parent or guardian so the next morning you can get to work.
Once you have followed the recipe you want to first take some dough and roll it out super thin and about the size of the top of a mug. Once you have rolled out the dough you want to first take some oil and lightly brush some on the dough then put some tomato sauce on the dough and whatever toppings you would like then carefully take the pizza in your hand and roll it up into a dumpling shape and if you are having trouble there is a picture down below of a pizza dumpling I made. Anyway then put pizza in the oven however long your pizza dough recipe says then when cooled down you can eat your pizza dumpling. Enjoy!

Learn Something New - Origami Yoda
By: Olivia McGrew, 5th Grader
When I learn I like to learn things that I am interested in and that I like so I have a fun time when I am learning something I have never learned before. When you learn you can learn about anything. It could be about a book you like reading, an animal you like, or even your favorite movie or TV show.
For this week in honor of Star Wars day on Monday you are going to learn how to fold an origami Yoda from Star Wars.
Click on this link to see how it is done: How To Fold an Origami Yoda
We’d love to see what you make this week. Share with us via the Amerman Elementary PTA Facebook Page or on Twitter @amermannv or email Ms. LaManna at lamannael@northvilleschools.org
