What's Happening at the Library
August-September 2012
Welcome back to a new school year!
A lot of things have been going on in the library. We have received several new books, thanks to our awesome book fair last spring. Kindergarteners have been learning how to scan their library cards and books and older students have been learning how to select books at their reading/interest level.
3rd and 4th graders Make Their Mark!
After reading and discussing the book, The Dot by Peter Reynolds, students made their very own mark by creating "dots" in art. Ms. Smith, our art teacher, has these dots displayed in the front hall outside the library.
Kindergarten Doing It On Their Own!
A lot of new things to learn in kindergarten and checking out a book from the library is one of them. Students have been very successful.
2nd Grade and Promethean Board
Second graders used the interactive Promethean board to learn about communities. Students had to identify the different characteristics of the communities they had studied by using technology.
