IMPORTANT- Students on the Blended Learning Model
- Some Blended Reminders from Mrs. Norwood:
- Students will attend either M/W/F or T/TH and work remotely on the at-home learning days.
- Classroom teachers will ask students/families to join the Learning Management System (K-2 is SeeSaw and 3-5 is Google Classroom). Teachers will attach the at-home learning to the management system. The remote learning will be self-guided.
- Students will need to complete the at-home learning on their remote learning days to be counted present at school.
- Classroom teachers will be busy working with students who are participating in on-site learning. If your child has a question while working from home, please send an email to get help from a support staff member. The email address is young-remote@sdale.org. Classroom teachers will not be able to respond due to their on-site obligations.
- A staff member will return all emails within 2 hours.
- If your child is not having success with the blended model, please reach out to the classroom teacher to discuss changes in the learning plan. The ideal situation would be for all students to come 5 days a week, but we also understand there might be circumstances that prevent this from happening.
Counselor's CornerMrs. Nelson has created a virtual office for the school year. Check it out! I am so happy to see everyone back in school! This month I will be going into classrooms and explaining what my role is as a School Counselor at Young. I will also be introducing students to my virtual classroom and discussing how they can come see me if they need support. Here’s what I do at Young:
| Lifetouch- Picture DayFall Picture day is September 24 and 25. Lifetouch is taking all appropriate COVID precautions during pictures this year. They will be screened at the office before entering the building. Online picture orders can be made at mylifetouch.com using the school picture day ID: EVTFHCVR8 Lifetouch photography sent us additional spring 2020 pictures by mistake. We will send them home to your child if we have them for you. There is no need to send any money or return them. Consider them a gift from Lifetouch. | Covid Reportinggo.sdale.org/covid If a staff or student tests positive for COVID or has a COVID exposure please complete the form at the site above. Someone will call you and we will move forward with the next steps provided by the Arkansas Department of Health. They make decisions regarding class/grade/school closures. It will be helpful if you notify the school administration or nurse as well. When we have a positive exposure in the building we will notify all parents via letter/automated phone call. If your child is directly affected, you will get a personal phone call describing the next steps. See daily Covid Numbers for the district and other Covid information at the district website. |

Small Group Counseling- I facilitate small groups for students who need a little extra support in a certain area.
Individual Counseling- I meet with students short-term to work through problems affecting them at school.
Consultation with Staff/Parents- I am available to talk with teachers and parents to help support students. I also provide resources and education about issues affecting children.
