No School Monday, Sept 7. Enjoy Labor Day!

Principal Corner

Happy Labor Day! No school Monday, September 7. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Stay safe!

I have been so impressed with the teachers at Young. They are working countless hours to make this a successful year. Be sure to send your child's teacher a word of encouragement during this year of all things new.

PTA News

The picnic tables have arrived!! We are so excited that you can check your child out for lunch and enjoy lunch at our new picnic tables. They are located in front of the yellow hallway.

The first PTA meeting will be held virtually on September 8 at 5:30pm. Please stay tuned to the PTA social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) for the link.

IMPORTANT- Students on the Blended Learning Model

  • Some Blended Reminders from Mrs. Norwood:

    • Students will attend either M/W/F or T/TH and work remotely on the at-home learning days.
    • Classroom teachers will ask students/families to join the Learning Management System (K-2 is SeeSaw and 3-5 is Google Classroom). Teachers will attach the at-home learning to the management system. The remote learning will be self-guided.
    • Students will need to complete the at-home learning on their remote learning days to be counted present at school.
    • Classroom teachers will be busy working with students who are participating in on-site learning. If your child has a question while working from home, please send an email to get help from a support staff member. The email address is young-remote@sdale.org. Classroom teachers will not be able to respond due to their on-site obligations.
    • A staff member will return all emails within 2 hours.
    • If your child is not having success with the blended model, please reach out to the classroom teacher to discuss changes in the learning plan. The ideal situation would be for all students to come 5 days a week, but we also understand there might be circumstances that prevent this from happening.

Digital Forms

We have moved to digital forms this year. Please complete the following form if you have not already regarding the acceptable usage agreement and release to use your child's picture or display work. Technology insurance is optional. There is a link to pay for technology insurance online. If you chose to send money to the school, please label it "Technology Insurance."

The Springdale Schools Acceptable Usage Agreement can be seen here. Specific information regarding technology insurance is located in this document.
