Middle School- Week of April 7
Middle School News
Hello Students and Families,
Tomorrow we embark on a new adventure: Four Day per week Hybrid at the same time as offering distance learning. This will be challenging and we will all need to work together to make this work.
Families, please read this with your student before Thursday Morning.
Distance Learners (and students who are quarantined at home)
You will continue to do 3 google meets each day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). The google meets start at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00. If you log in and the teacher has not yet opened the meeting, please wait a few minutes. The teacher may need to start exactly on time, or just a minute or two late because they are getting the students in the classroom settled in.
You will need to go into schoology in the afternoons. Go to each class and complete the work that is there. You do not have the afternoons off. You have asynchronous lessons. NO ONE has afternoons off. Families, if you find your student doesn't have work in the afternoons, please contact me right away. This is a mistake that needs to be fixed.
In person/ Hybrid Learners
If you take the bus, you will need to sit in the same seat each morning, and afternoon, and keep that seat for the remainder of the year. Please work with the bus driver to choose your seat when you ride the bus. This is a great time to learn your bus driver's name, and talk to them about where to sit.
Students who are in person (both Hybrid 1 and Hybrid 2) on Thursday, April 8 should come in, grab breakfast and go to first period. Students should come with a charged Chromebook and be ready to log into Schoology. Teachers will offer some hard copies, but many things will still be done digitally.
Remember that on Friday, we go backwards, and we start in period 6.
Students will not be 6 feet from each other. If you think your child is ill, or may have been exposed to someone who is ill, please keep them home and have them log on to google meets. They will not be marked absent. Please call or email us to let us know they will be doing distance learning for the day. In order for us to keep our school open, we need to be over careful- when in doubt, do Distance Learning.
Please communicate any attendance issues.
