News and Notes

Dear Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! it is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of January and are at the end of the 2nd quarter, which marks halfway through the school year. It has been quite the first half of the year!

I would like to share with you some staff changes for the second part of our school year. Mrs. Oppedisano will no longer be our Art teacher. She has been offered a wonderful opportunity she can't pass up. Ms. Alexia Kostaras, one of our amazing health monitors, has had to leave due to her college schedules. We wish them well and thank them for all their hard work with the students! I am in the process of hiring a new Art teacher and will keep you updated. Our new Health Monitor, Angelle Montanaro, will be starting this week.

We have been having some problems with afternoon pickup and creating traffic for the town. I want to remind you that PK and K are dismissed early so that their parents can take extra time to safely get them in the car. PK is dismissed at 2:15, K at 2:20 and 1st-8th are dismissed at 2:25. Please do no come before 2:25 if your child is not in PK or K. We are creating a serious traffic buildup while you wait for your child to be dismissed. I also want to remind you that pickup is available until 2:40 to ease the traffic so everyone does not all come at once. Thank you so much for your cooperation with this!

Catholic Schools Week begins next week, please make sure to read the exciting details below! I can't wait to see the children in their daily Catholic Schools Week attire.

Have a great week,

Ms. Kazan

Service Update!

LET'S TACKLE HUNGER: The Transfiguration School will be running a "SOUPer Bowl" Food Drive Monday, 1/25 through Friday, 2/5 to benefit St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry at Transfiguration Church.

Our Team Goal is to collect 250 canned goods and 100 boxes of cereal by Friday, February 5. If we meet our goal, students will have a "Team Spirit Dress Down" and can wear their favorite Team Jersey or Apparel on Monday after the Super Bowl (2/08)!

Just for fun, students are encouraged to put their donated items in the shopping bags labeled with the team they want to win Super Bowl LV. Will it be the Kansas City Chiefs or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Let's meet or exceed our goal... GO TEAM!

**If your student is working remotely and would like to contribute, please contact Gina Mueller, glranieri@live.com**
