Important Information for You!
Spread the Love Week!
In honor of Valentines Week, let's spend a little extra time spreading love and having fun!
Monday- All You Need is Love!
Wear red in honor of both the Red Wings Organization visit and the start of Valentines Week. When you get to work, grab a heart from the lounge and share some ‘love’ with a staff member to two.
Check your mailbox, table or work area, and then find the staff member that has your perfect match! Come to the office with your match for a sweet prize!
Wednesday-Sweet or Salty!
Join me and bring in your favorite sweet or salty treat to share with everyone in the lounge.
Thursday-Be My Valentine & Teach What You Love!
I’ll be bringing in breakfast treats for the staff. Just bring your favorite breakfast beverage and join your colleagues in the lounge for a little calm before all the Valentines Fun Starts.
Also for a little fun with your students and to further your relationship with them, teach them a little about yourself. Take a little break from curriculum to teach them something you love. Love knitting, teach them to hand knit...Love baking, teach them a recipe and bake
together...Love being outside, take them for a walk...Love exercising, do a work-out together...Love crafting or painting, you got it, paint with them. Your passion outside school becomes a life lesson for your students!
Snow Day Make-up
As you may have heard, the district is working on a plan to potentially make Friday, February 15th a student day. Please watch your email tomorrow for a final decision.
NWEA MAP Assessment
I believe we are down to just a couple of Make-up NWEA MAP assessments. We have until February 14th to get them all in, but obviously the sooner the better! When all of your students have completed both assessments, please email me with the subject line, 'NWEA Done'.
The deadline to nominate students for CAP has been extended to Friday, February 15. Please be sure to complete the teacher nomination form and send it over to Student Services before the deadline for students you are interested in nominating. If you have any questions about CAP nominations, please see me.
Believe it or not we are already getting geared up for next year’s kindergarten crew! Please
include the following information in your newsletters:

Cardinal Code Focus for the Week: Arrival & Dismissal
This week's Cardinal Code Lesson Focus for the week is Arrival and Dismissal. Some key points to remember and reteach are:
- Walking hip & lip, means you are not talking to your friends while walking
- Eyes forward so you can be sure to give personal space.
- Ensure that there are no big gaps.
- When waiting on the bench in the morning, be sure to do so quietly.
Quotes Worth Reading
"Let the beauty of what you LOVE be what you do."
"Being deeply LOVED by someone gives you strength, while LOVING someone deeply gives you courage.”
May you always have strength AND courage and may you give it as well.
Happy Valentines Day!
