3rd Grade Bobcat iStudio
Basehor-Linwood Middle School
Basehor-Linwood School District has received a grant to support our new MakerSpace called the Bobcat iStudio. We will be having a MakerSpace Night for third grade students and their parents (no siblings). We need to have one adult for each student, but are happy to have more than one adult present. Our BLHS BIT team will be present to support the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities. In the past, we have built with legos, created Scribble Bots, designed roller coasters, and coded with Dot and Dash and Osmo. This session, both parents and students will have hands-on activities. The Sign-Up form is at the bottom of this flyer. We look forward to seeing you at the Bobcat iStudio.
We have a parent who is a structural engineer who will help our students understand how circuits are used in the real world. Also, we have two of our student mentors who are learning coding to help our students make connections between coding and how this can be used to take classes in high school and careers students can have.
Coding with OSMO
Learn block coding skills using the iPad and a program called Osmo Coding.
Snap-circuits & littleBits
Invent something new with the littleBits electronic building blocks.
Coding with Dash and Dot
Program Dash to go through an obstacle course. Program Dot to make noises and light patterns.
