Grade Level Schedules
Does Your Student Need Tutoring?
During this week, TuES began free Grade Level Tutoring and additional support sessions for students!
Students at all grade levels are invited to "drop in" for extra help at different times. Drop In sessions can be used to receive support with assignments, review skills, ask questions and catch up from missed classes!
Optional Drop In and Tutoring Sessions:
- Daily Drop-Ins for Math and Language Arts during the school day
- Weekly Evening Hour Drop-In Tutoring
- Saturday Morning Math and Language Arts Tutoring Sessions
These optional support sessions are available for any TuES student. Evening and weekend tutoring sessions are free of charge.
Please contact your child's teacher for more information and details.
FCPS Virtual Learning Parent Feedback Survey
Virtual learning has been underway for three weeks and Tuscarora Elementary wants to hear from families on how it is going. We also want to hear from you on your preference for an instructional model in the event a hybrid learning model occurs. Please take a few minutes and respond to the following survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Fall20VirtualLearning.
We know that each child's experience with learning is unique and we ask that you complete one survey per child enrolled in FCPS.
Thank you for your time and dedication to FCPS staff and students.
A Message from Dr. Terry Alban, FCPS Superintendent
Greetings, FCPS Community:
Together we have launched into our virtual learning model for the 2020-2021 school year. I am grateful to have such a caring, cooperative, and resilient community of dedicated students, families, teachers, support staff, administrators, and Board members. Though there will be challenges to overcome, I am confident the collective efforts of our educational community will result in continuing academic excellence for our students.
To keep our parents and community apprised of important FCPS news while we are in the virtual learning model phase, I will share updates every two weeks through this format. This newsletter will include messages, hot topics, reminders, resources and highlights in a condensed, easy-to-read format that allows readers to glance over essentials or dive into details. I trust you will find the messages, videos, links, and content informative and useful as we progress through this first semester. The classes are virtual, but the education is real. Welcome Back to School!
Please feel free to share your comments and recommendations via Superintendent@FCPS.org.
I invite you to follow me via Twitter @FCPSMDSuper.

Schoology Tips!
Schoology Tips for Parent and Students:
Thank you to all parents for your at-home support! As the year continues, please reach out to the school if you are in need of additional supports. Here is the tip for parents to solve most Schoology issues:
Many common issues with schoology are due to students not logged into the chrome browser. Schoology works best on chromebooks and personal laptops when they are using Google Chrome. Students must use chrome to link to all FCPS accounts, passwords and features. This will give them the same access as in the school building. Google Chrome can be downloaded using this link here: install chrome from here.
Here are two important links for at-home support for families:

2) Schoology Support Resources for Families Website
3) TUES Student Tech Support Site
Other tips and tricks will be shared in feature S'Mores. Questions can also be sent to our TUES Schoology Ambassador, Mr. Collins at justin.collins@fcps.org
