What is American Education Week? #aew2022

American Education Week is an annual event that happens the week prior to Thanksgiving week. Each day of the week-long celebration is an observance of how each member of the community can contribute to making public schools great. American Education Week provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in the lives of our students.

Holiday Programs 2022 - Resources Available for those in Need

HELP of Southern Nevada's Holiday Programs provide holiday toys or gift cards to children up to age 18 (if enrolled in high school). Households who apply in November can receive Thanksgiving assistance. Please read the attachments below for program requirements, how to apply, what to bring, and deadlines.

Coronado Students Receive Congressional Recognition

In recognition of being recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist, the following students were presented with The United States Senate Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition.

9th Grade Counseling Academic Presentations

The Coronado Counseling team will be meeting with all of our 9th grade students to go over academic requirements and all things high school that 9th graders need to know. The students will attend the presentations during their English classes on Tuesday, 11/15, Wednesday, 11/16, or Thursday, 11/17.

ASVAB Testing at Coronado on November 17

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program can point you in the right direction to a satisfying career. Understanding your interests, abilities, and skills will help you to make the best decisions about your FUTURE!

Coronado will host the ASVAB test on November 17th.

The ASVAB can be used for career explorations, military entrance, or ACT/SAT practice testlets. This test is optional and will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis and priority will be given to students seeking military as post secondary goals.

Students need to arrive by 6:45 am and report to the cafeteria for testing.

Students must bring their laptop or Chromebooks fully charged as this will be done electronically. If students do not have their portable device, we will not have Chromebooks on hand and the student will be turned away.

Test Date: Thursday, November 17, 2022

Location: Coronado Cafeteria

Time: 7:00 am - 10:30 am

Attendance will be excused if students attend the day of the event.

Students will need to follow up with teachers to make up any missing assignments as they are still responsible for the work assigned the day of the test.

2022–2023 Districtwide Parent/Guardian Survey

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to submit their 2022–2023 Districtwide Parent/Guardian Survey online using a computer, laptop, or other mobile device at before December 16, 2022.

Any parent/guardian with children in the school is eligible to take the survey. You will need your child's student ID number and birthdate to log in. There are approximately 20 questions, and it will take less than three minutes to complete.

Plan Ahead....

Looking ahead to Semester Exams in December

The following dates are provided for you so that you can plan accordingly with your vacation travels. If your student does not take the semester exam, they will receive no credit.


Wednesday, December 14th

1st period 7:00 - 8:45

2nd period 8:55 - 10:40

Thursday, December 15th

3rd period 7:00 - 8:45

4th period 8:55 - 10:40

Friday, December 16th

5th period 7:00 - 8:45

6th period 8:55 - 10:40


Per District regulation, semester exams cannot be given early.

Teachers may give make up exams after school during the three days of semester exams (12/14-12/16).

Any exams not made up by December 16th can be made up when students and teachers return in January (and must be scheduled with the teacher).


There will be no retakes on semester exams. All semester exam grades are final.
