The Four Generations Of Computer
Stacks of information on each generation
All Generations
The First generation:
The first generation of computer Was A big Box Made up of vacuum tubes and often programmed using wiring plugboards. They were mainly used for Calcualation and mathematics.
The Second generation:
The mainframes were made up of transistors. At first punch cards were used to provide input.
The third generation:
This generation of computer was based on intergrated circuit technology.
The fourth generation: VThe fourth generation of computer technology is based on the microprocessor. Microprocessors employ Large Scale Integration (LSI) and Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) techniques to pack thousands or millions of transistors on a single chip.
