24th November 2022 - Week 6 -Term Four
Principal's Piece
Tena Koutou Katoa Weber whanau,
I hope everyone is well, the term is flying by so fast and already its week 6 !!
The teachers are busy getting reports written for the end of year, our senior students are writing their end of year speeches and we are all practicing our songs for prize giving.
This week was very exciting for our tamariki as we opened the school pool, the weather on Tuesday was stunning so a great day to have our first swim of the term. Some photos below.
A huge thank you to Heidi Lewis and Rachel Thompson who has worked all year on the upkeep of our pool and this term getting it prepped for us to use. We so appreciate all your hard work and time.
Unfortunately yesterday Inter school athletics was cancelled due to the inclement weather. A huge congratulations to those students who were going to represent the school, fingers crossed for sunny weather next year.
In the penultimate week of term - Wednesday 7th December at 10.30am we are going to host a thank you morning tea for all the fabulous volunteers who helped our tamariki this year as well as a farewell to our families who are leaving us this as their time with Weber comes to an end.
Our Prize giving assembly is on Wednesday 14th December at 5.30pm in the Weber Hall.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Have a lovely rest of your week
Kind regards
Lisa

🌱Green Team in the kitchen.🌿
After some hard work on Tuesday, harvesting some produce from the planter boxes, 2 Green Team students from every class helped bake a a tasty crust less quiche and a raw energy salad on Wednesday.
Austin was super speedy when it came to destalking the greens.
Axle was an expert at grating all the root veges
Larissa and Poppy wilting down the greens
Jane sped through peeling the carrots
Lead Kaitiaki Alex watching carfully
A team effort by everyone! Ka Pai Tamariki!

Bridge Inspections - Starting 14th November
Bridge Inspections
Beginning the week of 14.11.2022 through until 01.12.2022 Tararua Alliance will be carrying out principal bridge inspections on behalf of Tararua District Council. The attachment below shows a list of bridges, the dates expected to be done and expected delays at each bridge.
They aim to clear bridges as quickly as possible for emergency services and reduce wait times for school buses. Some of the dates may be subject to change and weather delays may mean not all bridges listed will be inspected.
They aim to not hold the buses up but there may be delays, so if buses are later than expected and these bridges are out your way not to worry.
