Crafting PLE
The Art of Creating Personalized Learning Environments
Summer Training Success
Our PLE Summer Training held on Aug. 4th -7th was a success! I heard so many great ideas coming from all teachers. I hope that you found lots of new information that you can use to implement PLE. I'm looking forward to seeing all the greatness in your classrooms this year.
I want to thank all of our Teacher Leaders who volunteered to facilitate sessions, and especially to those who jumped in to help at the last minute. You all did a wonderful job!
If you missed summer training, don't worry - we'll be scheduling times for you to get what you missed.

You will also see me observing in your classrooms to be able to better give you guidance on personalized learning. I am also available for model lessons, lesson planning, and, of course, tablet help.
My office is now in the lower lab in what used to be the PBIS room. It's still a mess right now, but I hope soon to be able to get it straight. Stop by and see me any time - if you can catch me in there!
Crafting Wisdom
Becoming a PLE Master
Can you do this? Of course you can. You have the tools. From the PACE summer training to upcoming events offered by your school PLE team to the Amplify tablet, everything you need is before you. Your job is to truly engage in the workshops offered not only in your school but around GCS. Maintain connections with the teachers you met this past summer or become a connected educator and seek out other PLE Masters around the world. Where do you start? Begin by searching educational hashtags on Twitter or subscribing to educational sites such as Edutopia, Pinterest or Discovery Education. Speaking of educational hashtags on Twitter, be on the lookout for information about GCS PLE Twitter Chats coming soon.
Make sure you are working to accomplish your PLE goal that you created during the School Focus session at summer training. If you didn't attend Ferndale's training, what will be your personal PLE goal for your classroom this year? You may want to post your goal somewhere to keep it in mind as you plan your lessons.
