Scheduling Night, March 26th, 2015
March 26, 2015 will be our student scheduling night at Collins High School from 4-7 p.m. Parents need to accompany their student to meet with their current teachers about which courses their students needs to take for the 2015-2016 school year. Students will need to pick up their scheduling sheet and then begin the process of meeting with and collecting signatures from teachers. All teachers will be found in the large gym. If you are unable to accompany your student to this event, arrangements need to be made with your child's Guidance counselor to set up a meeting to make scheduling requests for next year.

Reading Gala:
Dear Parents,
As you probably know, yesterday was the day your senior checked out the Reading Gala book of their choice for our Reading Gala on April 16th. Just to refresh your memory, the Reading Gala program is designed to expose students to the pleasures of reading, discussing, and evaluating fiction and nonfiction. Every senior currently enrolled in English IV is a participant in the program.
We want to take this time to thank those that have already volunteered to donate refreshments for our Reading Gala event on April 16, 2015 at 3:30pm when every senior along with all the group leader mentors will meet to discuss and evaluate their book.
I have listed refreshments that we still need if you are interested in helping out in this way.
200 cookies
10 doz. Cupcakes
4 bags of assorted fruit
3 fruit trays
2 veggie trays
3 large bags of candy
4 bags of chips
If there are parents that would like to volunteer to donate any of the above items that we still need, we would greatly appreciate it. You can respond via email to Pamela.redman@shelby.kyschools.us or call me at 502-647-1160, ext. 1281
For your convenience I am also including the refreshment delivery dates that I provided in my first letter.
Please send or deliver nonperishable items by Friday, April 10th or earlier if you like.
Perishable items may be sent the morning of the Reading Gala (April 16) or
from noon to 3:00pm on April 15th.
We want to thank you again for your support in making this event an enjoyable and successful time for our seniors at Martha Layne Collins High School.
