Our Promise
Every student in Dallas School District is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates ready for career, college, and community.
I double-dog dare you!
As I sit here and sort of argue with my son who is attempting to complete scholarship applications, his mom and I are trying to convince him that he needs to boast a little bit to tell more about why he should be selected, else the committees reviewing his application may not know just how awesome of student and person he is. Sometimes you have to be ok with saying out loud those things that we have done well and have accomplished as these things take a whole lot of work to attain and even more to maintain.
So in honor of our Staff Character Dare this week I double-dog dare you to list at least 5 things you like about our school and either hand those to me or email your thoughts. Say it out loud to others!
So I thought I would kick it off, here are just some of the ten reasons I love my school:
1. We have teams that work well together (grade level and content area).
2. No matter how crazy the idea, we always find people willing to step up to the challenge. (Project Based Learning, Exhibition, Extended Advisory, Character Strong, The STEAM Machine).
3. Our staff celebrates each other (Teacher and Classified Weeks, birthdays and beyond....way beyond)!
4. We voice our thoughts in ways that respect each other. (Board work sessions, staff surveys, PLC).
5. We seek solutions to some of our hardest, seemingly unsolvable problems (Behavior).
6. Our office staff are amazing and value customer service even as hard as it can be sometimes, they do a great job!
7. Our students are getting a really rich education (They don't realize it all the time but they have so many options for learning and being creative).
8. Our school is recognized as taking risks and disrupting the traditional mindset of education (Trust me it's out there)!
9. We know the value of connecting with kids and we make it a priority (Character Strong and every day in hallways and classrooms).
10. Our staff that works with our most in need do so with a kind heart! (DLC, SLP and Behavior Specialist).
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
We've been working on a project that I am really excited about and will share briefly as well as what we know about the SIA potentials for LaCreole on Tuesday.
Glad you're here!
Jamie
