New Newsletter Format
Welcome to the new year and our new look fortnightly Trinity Connect. We hope to keep our families up to date with important college information and happenings. The format is easily read on mobile devices, online and printable. The link will also be available on our internet page.
We encourage our parents to like TLC on Facebook as we will be sharing our students learning on a regular basis.
Welcome to 2019
It is with great excitement that I get to share my first day at Trinity tomorrow morning along with our new students and staff joining us in various year levels across the College. I love the excitement and nervous energy that is in the air on the first morning of a new school year! Beaming smiles, friends jumping with joy when reconnecting after the summer holidays, the shine of new shoes, the crisp look of fresh new uniforms and the buzz that you can feel in the air. I love the enthusiasm that our community has for the year ahead.
We extend a warm welcome to our new staff, Melissa Moore, Rachel Hillier, Jo Botha and Wendy Yeung. TLC is very lucky to have such talented staff join our team. Welcome ladies!
May tomorrow be a day where you can take a moment to stop and be thankful for your beautiful kids! It may be that you are thankful that finally school is back, you may be thankful that you managed to get to school on time or managed to get through drop off without tears, you may be thankful for the peace and quiet you will have for 6 hours a day again. But be thankful! How lucky are we to have such incredible kids, filled with the joy and excitement of a new year and a new journey. Happy Day One to all of our TLC families!
FIRST DAY PROCEDURES
Tomorrow morning we will have lots of excited and slightly nervous students arriving for their first day of 2019. Our amazing staff are super excited to get the year off to a flying start!
Please arrive from 8:25am. Teachers will be in classrooms ready to welcome your children for an 8:45am start.
For those new to our college the first day can be a little over whelming. If you need assistance to find your child’s classroom please meet Mrs Heinrich outside the College Office (look for the TLC flag) and she will arrange for a staff member to show you to the classroom.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL SAFETY
As we start a new year it is timely to remind our parents and guardians of our expectations of students before and after school, specifically in the use of playground equipment. Staff are not on formal duty until 8:25am. There is also no formal supervision after school except for the front of the college and bus travel areas until 3:45pm. For the safety of all students and younger siblings please do not use College play equipment before or after school.
Students who have no option but to arrive at school before 8:25am are to sit in the Sails area (Yr 3-10) and the front of Victoria Wing (P-2) until teachers arrive on duty. Please note that this is not a time to run around and play.
We thank you for helping us to put the safety of your children first.
The Instrumental Program are offering last minute enrolments in dance, instrumental and singing lessons.
Students are not to use mobile phones during the school day unless given specific permission by a teacher to engage in a learning task. Should parents need to contact their children during school hours it is requested that all contact come via the College Reception.
Parent Lounge now Includes Camps and Excursion Notes
Please be advised that as of 2019 the College is extending the use of parent lounge.
All excursions and camp correspondence are accessible via the parent lounge. Notifications to families will still be via text or email.
Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact College reception.
Our staff used this article at a workshop this week, as we looked at the link between self-respect and self-esteem through the eyes of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. There are some wonderful tips that can help us as both educators and parents!
