Help Needed - Valentine's Party
Our 5th Grade Valentine's Party is next week on Wednesday. It looks like we have all the supplies we need (thank you!) but are still in need of many volunteers to help serve food and navigate students during the Bingo game. If you are available at all on Wednesday afternoon, we could use the help! Please sign up below:

Six Flags Read to Succeed
Don't forget that the Six Flags Read to Succeed program ends on February 15. If your child reads six hours and completes the reading form, they will receive a free child's Six Flags ticket to be redeemed this summer. Return the form to your child's teacher by February 15. If you can't find the form, you can download a new one by going to the web address below:

Obstacles Make Us Stronger
January-February are tough months. We are coming off of winter vacation, the weather keeps us trapped indoors more often (yay inside recess), we have mid-year assessments, and the next long break is a bit away. We are working hard to keep students encouraged, motivated, and engaged. Because your kids are worth fighting for. They deserve all we've got to give.
Just as we believe in them, we hope they believe in their own potential and will fight for it, no matter what obstacle they may face.
GT Corner
Gifted characteristics can at times be seen as "problems." The article below touches on characteristics such as: sensitivities, perfectionism, the underachiever, and the imposter. These characteristics have their pros and cons. Understanding the positives and negatives can help both you and your child. We hope you find the article (and site itself) useful!
