Oh, I LOVE Reading! (photo by P. Bunting)
The photograph above says it all! Our number one goal is to grow excellent readers here at EV! Our Readers and Writers Workshop from Teachers College at Columbia University in New York City is designed to meet that goal. As a staff we have been working hard to learn this curriculum and deliver it with the integrity with which it is designed. We use the A-Z reading assessment to identify your child's reading level and then we provide ample opportunity for him/her to practice reading EVERY DAY with books he/she can read and understand. Being a great reader takes practice like anything else. Students are building their reading muscle. We ask that you support us by having your child read at home for 20-30 minutes per day! Thank you! the EV Staff!
