Growing Our Own Future Teachers Scholarship
Growing Our Own Future Teachers Scholarship is handed out to 3 outstanding PWCS students who have committed to the education field at a 4-year college or university. Criteria for the scholarship was to write a job application, cover letter, resume and participate in a job interview. The students chosen receive $3,000 towards their college tuition. Two of our very own Yellow Jackets came away with this prestigious scholarship!
On Friday 4/28, Ryan Dinardo and Jake Gaston were presented with the scholarship (and some goodies!) by Kelli Stenhouse, Sean McDonald and Veronica Jackson from the Kelly Leadership Center. It was a great surprise on a very rainy day! Jake and Ryan are pictured above with Mr. Bixby (Associate Superintendent of High Schools), Ms. Kane (OPHS principal) and Mrs. Mullins (VA Teachers for Tomorrow instructor).

Speaking of Banners, Fall and Winter Senior athletes who still need to pick up your banners, Ms. Riley will be in the football concession stand next Saturday, 5/6, from 10-12p to pay for/pick up your banners.
While you're on the Booster website, please pay your spring (or fall/winter) dues as well. We are only at 50% and need your help collecting the dues. What do they pay for? Please support your Boosters with your one-time dues payment. We are raffling off gift cards to all athletes that have paid dues by May 15!
Elections will take place at the May 9th meeting. All Board positions are available, as are a number of Committee Chairs. If you are interested in volunteering but don't know where to start, please reach out to our president at: presopab@gmail.com
