If You Do, Do It Well
The mark on the wall is the one you set. Set it high.
The goal you are striving toward requires attention. Focus on it.
The work you are engage in needs to be thorough. Be precise.
The value others place on you matters. But not as much as the value you place on yourself.
The time required to complete solid outcomes can be long. Wind the watch.
The effort needed to be the best can be tiring. Persevere.
The company you keep matters. Weed your garden of 'energy suckers'.
The mark you leave on this earth matters. Embrace your legacy.
Today, if you do... do it well.

News From PTO
It's that time of year again! We will be kicking of our PTO Fall Box Tops Contest this coming Monday, September 10th, and ending October 12th. This year, we will have an overall contest winner (classroom celebration and teacher prize) for the classroom with the most box tops by October 12th, and we will also have a teacher prize for the classroom with the most box tops turned in by September 28th. Susan Vrabel will be putting information in your mailboxes to send home with your students. Thank you as always for getting your students excited about the contest!
Dates to Remember:
Kickoff: September 10th
First contest end date for teacher prize: September 28th
Final contest end date for classroom and teacher prize: October 12th
Please put collected box tops in the PTO mailbox. Each teacher will have a ziploc bag with your name on it that can be used to collect and turn in Box Tops.
Student Learning Objectives (SLOs)
Just a reminder, there is a google doc you can use as an SLO Calculator to determine the number needed for highly effective, effective, improvement necessary and ineffective.
For those with standardized assessments, you may choose to use IREAD (3rd grade), ILEARN, or NWEA as your measure.
If you need help or have questions, please let me know.
We will discuss your SLOs at your fall S2S meeting.

Jaymee here! Reading Labs and phonics groups have hit the ground running! We will be informing you throughout the year about concepts we are practicing and how your students are doing. Please reach out to us if you are seeing positive shifts in their reading behaviors or if you have concerns. It takes a village!
Just a note on new students...if you are concerned about a new student that wasn't here for benchmarking, let me know. I have some time set aside on Fridays for getting text levels on new students.
Renee here! We will be looking at 4th grade math data next week as unit 1 test scores are updated. I'm hoping to have tier 2 and tier 3 students in 4th grade finalized by Friday afternoon. I'd like to meet with our instructional assistants next Friday at 1:00 to share out Math Lab (tier 3) information and tier 2 students (will receive extra help in class). Tentatively, Math Lab would begin on Monday, September 17th. Thank you for your patience.
