Websites to Try!
Literacy -Scholastic Story Writers
Great site to use on the Interactive White Board. Students can spin a wheel and create various fun story starters. This can be used as a whole group, small group, or individual activity. Students can have fun sharing the silly stories they come up with.
Literacy - Newsela-Nonfiction Literacy and Current Events
Great for teachers looking for informational texts for students. Teachers can create a free account and assign texts based on reading level. Some passages even come with quizzes! Teachers can differentiate by assigning different reading levels for the same text. Appropriate for 3rd grade and up.
Math - Oxford Owl Maths
Great site for interactive whiteboard math activities, printables, and math ebooks with printable activities. (must create a free account to access the math ebooks).
Fun Task!! Create a Padlet for your Classroom
Go to Padlet and click Build Wall (no need to sign-up right away). Click anywhere on your wall and type in an activity or question to answer. (You can also upload files). Roll over the share/export button (on the right side of the wall) and copy and paste the URL on student homework sheets. Check back at the end of the week or the next day to see and discuss responses.
