Welcome!

Welcome to our classroom Smore page! Here you will see what we did in class this week, we we have planned for next week, and some other important tidbits!

Reminders/Notices

  • PLPs (Personal Learning Plans) have been sent home today.
  • Please remember to turn in your registration documents for next year.
  • Library is on Tuesday.
  • PE shoes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Please remember to send your child to school with a jacket. The sun is starting to come out, but it can still be cold!

Field Trip to the Wing Luke Museum

Our students had a great time on our field trip today! We learned about the influence of the Asian cultures on the International District down in Seattle and then we had a delicious meal at the House of Hong! Thank you to everyone who could help out!

This Week in Class

MATH: This week groups continued their work on graphing, area and perimeter, and multi-digit multiplication practice. We talked about pictographs, bar graphs, pie charts, etc.


READING: Students continued their group literature circles this week. The students have been doing a wonderful job reading and working with their groups!


WRITING: We continued our poetry unit. Students spent time reading and writing color poems and finishing up their Poetry Books.


SOCIAL STUDIES: We continued our unit on economics. We discussed what it means to spend, save, and what goods and services are. Students were given the opportunity to create a "sale" poster to sell a pretend item from their pretend store. They practiced their persuasive skills and economic tactics.


OTHER: Ben was Star Student and Wing Luke Field Trip on Friday!

Next Week in Class

MATH: Students will finish work on graphing, area and perimeter, and multi-digit multiplication. We will begin whole class work on measurement.


READING: Students will continue their small group literature circles.


WRITING: We will finish our poetry unit with a poetry celebration! Students will get to select two of their favorite poems to share with the class.


SOCIAL STUDIES: We will continue our unit on economics. We will discuss how we share resources with each other.


OTHER: CTP Practice Test on Tuesday and Kindergarten World Cup on Friday!
