Harriet Tubman was a brave woman. She went down to the South to escape over 300 slaves when using the Underground Railroad. She was even a spy for the Union army. Harriet was the most heroic during her time.

Sojourner Truth was escaped slave who spoke about the evils of slavery and preached from her bible. She thought woman and slaves had the right to do anything.

William Lloyd Garrison was an abolitionist. Her wrote newspaper articles on the troubles that slaves are dealing with down South.

Fredrick Douglass was a escaped slave. He published a newspaper about the struggles of being a slave . He spoke about what it was like and fought for his freedom.

Harriet Beecher Stowe was a abolitionist. She wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin. She wrote the book to show people that being a slave and owning a human being is wrong.
John Brown
John Brown was a abolitionist who moved to Kansas after the Kansas-Nebraska Act. He and his sons participated a raid called "Bleeding Kansas". But it was unsuccessful.
