A Message From Mrs. Oelschlegel:
In our K-5 Math classrooms ORIGO Stepping Stones 2.0 is used to teach math and is even more dynamic and fun this year with new interactive math resources giving students ways to show what they have learned and justify their thinking. The static whiteboard with stinky colored pens has been replaced by digital tools so students can map out their new found mathematics understanding and teachers can more easily teach, track, and assess student understanding.
The ORIGO One Channel of one-minute animated math education videos are embedded in Slate so teachers can quickly find a supporting video that will break down complicated concepts into easy-to-understand pieces. Teachers, PARENTS and students also have access to ORIGO One for free on Vimeo and YouTube. ORIGO One will be featured in a series of six videos, with additional explanation of the concepts, throughout the year at the popular teaching blog The Curriculum Corner.

LLS-Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fundraiser
Ellisor is taking part in a fundraiser for LLS-Leukemia and Lymphoma Society this week, March 5-9.
Below are some activities as part of this fundraiser:
Monday 3/5-a representative will be at morning assembly to briefly speak about blood cancers
Monday 3/5-coin boxes (1 for each student) will be delivered to your classroom. Pass these out to your students and have them take them home to collect spare change. I will collect these coin boxes next Friday, 3/9
Wednesday, 3/7 "Team up AGAINST cancer" Donate a dollar and wear your favorite jersey/team sport shirt. Talk about the importance of working together as a team to raise money to help fight this disease. I will give each teacher an envelope to collect the dollars. I will collect at the end of the day.
An online account is also a possibility for donation...student series.org/find-your-school.
Here is the FUN part.....the class that raises the most money in each grade level, will get 15 MINUTES EXTRA RECESS!!
Thank you for your help!
