Middlebrook Mountain Lions May 12, 2023

Dear Middlebrook Famlies,

It was an exciting week here at Middlebrook as our amazing PTA and families celebrated our staff with raffles, lunch, beverages, treats, flowers and Middlebrook swag. A huge thank you goes out to the entire PTA and Teacher Appreciation Committee, and to all of you who offered to make contributions to make this a special week for our Middlebrook staff! We truly feel appreciated and we appreciate you!

For those of you celebrating the mothers in your life, we wish you a relaxing and joyful Mothers Day to all of our Middlebrook moms.

Best,

Ms. Ponte
Ms. Molloy

One School, One Book

On Monday, May 8th we hosted a OSOB Schoolwide Assembly Kickoff in the gym. A short video and a Readers Theater presentation of chapters 1 and 2 were presented to the students. We encourage all students to follow the calendar and read along together as we build a community of readers!

A visit with author Steve Swinburne

https://steveswinburne.com/

On Tuesday, May 9, Steve Swinburne visited with students in the library media center. He discussed his new book "Giraffe Math" and how he gathers his ideas. As always, he brought along his ukulele and strummed along during his presentation. All students, grades K-5, were able to enjoy the time with this entertaining and informative author.

Squid Dissection

The students had so much fun dissecting squid. They learned about the external and internal parts and their functions. We were fortunate to have our head of science curriculum, Mrs. Doherty, join the fourth grade team to assist. She complimented the students on their effort, enthusiasm, and fabulous behavior!

Best Buddies Program

Best Buddies came together for their first event at each grade level! The focus of the first event was for the students to get to know each other and learn about what it means to be a Best Buddy!! Groups played get-to-know each other games or made All About Me books and shared them with their peers. We are looking forward to our next event next month! Love, Miss Browne and Miss Barnett

News from the Nurse- Grade 3

The physical must be completed between June 1, 2022 through June 1, 2023, so that your child may continue to attend the Trumbull School system.
