Pass check out

Please don't let your students abuse the library pass system.

  • Students should not come on a pass the day before your class comes together.
  • Student should have finished all of the books they checked out.
  • Also remind them that they need to look quickly and return to class!
  • If you have students who are visiting the library each day, they need to check out harder books - let me know and I will be happy to guide them!

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Author Visit October 27th!

I have Nooks with some of his books loaded on them that you can check out for use in your class. I also have more of his books in paper form that can be checked out by students!

J. Scott Savage, author of the Farworld and Case File 13 book series, will be visiting Bethel Elementary School with his 6-foot mechanical dragon created by Clark Schaffer (FX artist for Ironman II, 127 Hours, The Giver, Deep Blue Sea, Star Trek Generations, Sphere, and more) on October 27th at 8:15am. He is promoting his new series The Mysteries of the Cove: Fires of Invention.

Mr. Savage will be presenting a 40 minute fun and interactive assembly for grades 3-5. The theme of the assembly is The Power of Creativity. He will talk about kids who made the world a better place by using their imaginations. He also teaches the kids how to come up with an amazing story idea in less than 5 minutes using a hero, a goal, obstacles, and consequences of success and failure.

He will be signing books at Barnes and Noble on Woodruff Rd. the evening of October 27th and giving out free bookmarks and posters. This visit is being paid for by his publisher since he is on book tour!!

Six For Sticks and Carolina/Clemson Game

All Six for Sticks Reading logs are due no later than next Monday, October 19th.

The second reading competition is being sponsored by the EOC. It is also 6 books, so any students who fill out the Six for Sticks log will automatically be entered. For this one, students enter for a chance to win tickets to the Carolina Clemson game. I will need teacher signatures for your students that enter so I will be putting cards in your mailboxes to sign and return to me. There is also a nice bookmark they get.
