Job Shadowing Program
Updates from Mrs. Breeding
Participation Agreement & Resumes
The next step in preparing for the Job Shadow Day is to create or update your resume. I have a handout if you need some guidance in creating your resume. There is even a video below to help you. The video is talking about the college resume, but that will work for job shadowing. Also, save your resume! If you are a junior, you will use it again next year. If you are a senior, you will use it through college and beyond.
Turn in a copy of your resume to me by January 23. Please stop by and see me if you have any questions! I am so excited and proud that you are taking advantage of this opportunity.
About February 2--Job Shadowing Day!
Job Shadowing FAQs
What about the Mentor and Student Evaluation forms?
The “Job Shadowing Mentor Evaluation Form” will be emailed to the mentors. If you did not provide an email address, you will need to give a paper copy to the person you are shadowing. They can either fill it out at the end of the day and hand it back to you in the envelope, or they can fill it out later and mail it to the school. This information is very important!
The “Student Information and Evaluation Form” needs to be filled out after you finish shadowing. This evaluation will be a Google doc that I will email to you in about a week. If the student evaluation is not submitted, this day will count as an absence.
If you don’t fill out the student evaluation or you are missing any of the other steps in the program, you will not receive a certificate of completion at the award ceremony at the end of the semester.
What do I do if I am sick on Monday, February 2, and cannot Job Shadow?
You are responsible for calling the person you were going to job shadow and let them know you will not be able to shadow them. Also, you must call the school to let the office know that you are sick and are not at the job site.
What if there is inclement weather and school is cancelled?
If school is cancelled, the Job Shadow Day is cancelled. You will need to contact the person you were shadowing to let them know you will not be at the job shadow site due to the weather.
I hope you have a wonderful day Job Shadowing! I am so happy you are taking advantage of this opportunity.
