The Viewpoint
Every week you will receive a newsletter from me recapping the week and spreading good news :). There is usually a lot of information in the newsletter so I try to keep it brief, yet informational. You will also see plenty of pictures. Look for your child!
Thank you for sharing your children with us. We are the lucky ones.

Positivity Project
We will once again join the movement of The Positivity Project. The Positivity Project helps to empower America’s youth to build strong relationships and to understand, appreciate, and exemplify the character strengths in us all through the motto #otherpeoplematter. There are 24 different character strengths that are taught through The Positivity Project, each of which your child will learn about this year. Please see the attachment below, and visit the website, https://posproject.org/, for more information about The Positivity Project.
Below is a parent letter with more details.
Think Link after school option
Last year LOCS and the Orion Township Public Library (OTPL) worked together to offer an after school program on specific Mondays for 6th graders called ThinkLink. We are happy to announce that the program is back and expanding to all grade levels this school year!
In order to register your child for weekly meetings, a permission slip must be turned in for each individual meeting session. Students will bring in the ThinkLink permission slip (attached) to the main office first thing Monday morning on the date they plan to attend ThinkLink. Students will be issued their bus pass at lunchtime later that day.
The first session for this year's ThinkLink program begins next Monday, September 9, 2019. If interested, please see the attachments below.

District app
The middle school app that we used in previous years is no longer being utilized. We are in the process of getting a district wide app. The decision to drop our previous app service was both budgetary and to limit the number of apps parents will need to utilize for district/building information. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We are looking forward to getting the district wide app up and running as soon as possible. Until then, our website and this newsletter would be the best source of up-to-date information.
