Taste of Lee's Summit Auction Basket(s)
Our Lee's Summit Educational Foundation's 17th Annual Taste of Lee's Summit is just around the corner! Scheduled for Saturday, March 5 at the Pavilion at John Knox Village, this year's event is going to be amazing! Our theme is: "Celebrating Champions: Our students, Our staff, Our community." Every bit of the money we raise that evening goes right back into our students' classrooms through PEAK Grants which teachers apply for annually and for additional technology like ongoing Chromebook support! Last year, the Foundation provided over $170,000 to teachers and classrooms across the district!
I know you received Taste of Lee's Summit information earlier this school year, but now it's time to get those baskets/auction items rounded up and delivered to the Foundation Office in the Stansberry Leadership Center (first office on the right as you enter the front door). Our deadline is February 8.

Lee's Summit Police Dept joins our January 28th lockdown drill
Every January we work with SLC and LSPD to conduct lockdown drills. LSPD provides valuable feedback to assist in continuing to keep our students and staff safe. We will be conducting our drill tomorrow, Thursday, January 28th at 1:15 p.m. The drill should only last 10 minutes at the most. Please wait for the all clear signal.
We will be directing students and giving commands of moving to the safe wall, covering interior door and adjacent windows, and of course making sure your door is locked. Remind students that they will need to follow directions in order to keep them safe.
Additional Lockdown Information
January 28th - Officer observed (LSPD) emergency response drill
March 4th - Active Shooter Response training - all staff must attend
April 28th - Additional emergency response drill
Emergency Operations Team Mtg.
If a parent comes through the lobby doors and into our school during a day we have students, they MUST be VMS'd first. This includes parents who come for MYT, Sped Mtgs, and healthroom visits. The easy way....VMS everyone who passes through that lobby to hallway door.
Walkies:
Our walkies cost $300+ each, we can not purchase additional walkies for staff. Please remember to use the "button" in the classroom that connects you to the front office. You can then instruct the front office as to what you need "call team _____", "send Cristi to ____ room".
Your Approach:
Weekly Reminder:
Regarding time off requests, classified staff will still need to request the entire time off. If they request 4 hours and they return after 4 hours plus some, they will need to modify this time off request or work the extra time before the end of the week.
Mail procedure instructions and mail supplies are in the File Room.
Please notify the office if a Title student is now eligible to receive Special Education services. Please place the Title cumulative file in the brown file
