Please be careful when grading the constructed responses. If a student did not take the benchmark, do not grade the CR.
Using Benchmark Information
Tammy Sicignao at North wrote "It was interesting and well worth the time spent. Many were hesitate to come up and then surprised at what the found out. Some were insulted by what was expected and wanted more. All felt they could do better than what was expected. We picked a target scores."
Here is the link to the spreadsheet and information on how to access the data.

Message from Melissa
Although it is rainy today, it was a gorgeous weekend. I hope you are all doing well.
I know AP teachers are stressing about the exam, which is just over the horizon. You have got this!
Benchmarks begin next week. I strongly suggest taking the 12 week benchmark at the start of the testing window. For most courses, if you are close to pacing, you should have already taught the material on the benchmark.
Those teachers that have used the benchmark data to set goals with students have seen a positive impact. Students, overall, have had more buy in with the benchmarks. If you are not using the benchmark data in connection with the EVAAS prediciton percentiles, talk with a peer who is and see how it has worked for them.
Have you been asked by administration to cover a class during your planning? Have you been compensated for this? At one of the listening sessions with Dr. Emory, it was mentioned that teachers should be getting some type of compensation for this. There have been conflicting reports from schools on if and how this is being done. But according to Dr. Emory, there is teacher compensation for covering a class when there is a substitute shortage. This does not include doing a favor for a peer. This might be something to ask your administration about or get clarification from Dr. Emory.
I hope you have a great week. If you need anything, please let me know!
Melissa
