Car Line ends at 7:55AM. School begins at 8:00AM. Students are tardy at 8:15.
IMPORTANT PARENT REMINDER
Harllee Families, we have had a large number of families requesting picking up students after 2:30PM. Our campus dismissal policy is that families should pick up students for medical appointments BEFORE 2:30PM. Students will not be released after 2:30PM. After 2:30 are preparing for dismissal. Please support us by complying with this policy. If a child is regularly picked up early, without a doctor's note after 3 occasions this will count as an UNEXCUSED Absence.
Please join your child's teachers Remind. Remind is how we will communicate important information that is class specific to families. Our goal is to have 100% of families receiving communication through Remind. Please sign up today.
Have a great weekend!

Every Hawk Every Day! Good Attendance Starts Now!
Did you know?
- Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
- Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read.
- Students can still fall behind if they miss just 1 or 2 days every few weeks. • Being late to school may lead to poor attendance
- Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.
The Texas State Compulsory Attendance Law requires students ages 6 through 19 to attend school. Section 25.085 requires students to go to school each school day for the entire school day unless exempted by law. This requirement includes students who have voluntarily enrolled in prekindergarten or kindergarten and students who are nineteen years old or older.
Students who violate this law may get referral(s) for court proceedings against the parent, guardian or student to enforce the law.
Violation of the law occurs when students get unexcused absences for 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period.
Partial Absence
Students are required to attend school from the time the school day begins until the time the school day ends. A partial day absence occurs when a student is not present for part of the school day.
A student who arrives late or leaves early will get a partial absence.
The school will decide whether the partial absence is excused or unexcused using the same standards for determining the status of full-day absences.

STUDENT ILLNESS POLICY
Keeping your child home when they are sick, prevents the spread of illness in the school and allows your child an opportunity to rest and recover. A sick child cannot learn effectively and is unable to participate in class in a meaningful way.
Students shall be excluded from school if they have or are suspected of having a communicable condition. Some common conditions are:
Fever – A temperature of 100° Fahrenheit (37.8° Celsius) or higher. Fever is usually a symptom of a contagious condition. Students may return to school after they have been without fever over 100° for at least 24 hours AND without the use of fever reducing medicines like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen.
*If your child had a fever in the past 24 hours they still may not come to school:
-Even if they woke up feeling better in the morning
-Even if they don’t want to miss school (yes, we all know Harllee is great!)
-Even if their fever went down after giving them medicine
Conjunctivitis, Bacterial or Viral (Pink Eye) - Red eyes, usually with some discharge or crusting around eyes. Students may return to school after receiving permission by a physician or local health authority or until symptom free.
Diarrhea - Diarrhea is 3 or more episodes of loose stools in a 24 hour period. Students may return to school after being diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use of diarrhea suppressing medications.
Strep Throat - Students may return to school after receiving effective antibiotic treatment for at least 24 hours AND fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever suppressing medicines like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen.
Thank you for your help in keeping our Harllee Hawks healthy and safe!
Immunization Records
Up to date vaccination records are required for all students attending school. Vaccination records should be up to date, no later than 30 days after enrollment. This past week, I sent out letters for students who were missing vaccinations or who have an incomplete record on file. If you received a letter, please provide the nurse with an up to date vaccination record as soon as possible. You can send a copy to school; you may bring the record and we can make a copy, or you can send a clear photo of the record to mcorral@dallasisd.org.
Thank you for your help!
