Historical Heroes...Techie Style
Our LifeSkill focus of courage, has provided a natural springboard for the discussion of Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and Martin Luther King, Jr. as good citizens. Using our SmartBoard, I’ve been modeling the use of the Internet for research and educational purposes. On their own, students have been researching these historical leaders on the Internet-based BrainPop Jr. Has your child been on this website lately at home? The login/password combination for BrainPop Jr. is as follows:
login: ucoin
password: brainpop

SNOWSHOES, HOT CHOCOLATE & WINTER BIRDS
Due to weather, the Saturday morning activities of Oxford's Conquer Cabin Fever will be moved INDOORS at the TRI. This means the sled dogs will have to stay home but there will still be interactive snowshoe demonstrations, hot chocolate, and winter birds from Hueston Woods!
This event is free and will be at the TRI Community Center 6025 Fairfield Rd. in Oxford, OH and runs from 10 AM - 1 PM. For more detailed information click here.
Math Facts Progress
We are getting to the point where many students have mastered their math facts in both addition and subtraction and are currently working on mixed (+/-) operations. We had FOUR different students pass just today! Three amazing mathematicians are already working on multiplication! Way to go second graders!!!! If your child is not there...yet...please keep practicing at home so that (s)he is one step closer to that goal.
