Reading
We are playing a bit of catch-up this week, so there is no homework. We are having a reading comprehension test and finishing up our Hector thinking projects.
Next week we will have a crime to solve! SHHH! The principal has been KIDNAPPED!!!
(to review our close reading and digging deeper)
Students can bring a small pillow OR stuffed animal all next week.
Language
We have keyboarded 3 of our best poems and reflected on the challenges and fun found in poetry. After reviewing numerous biographies of people important to Texas, students will request their top 3 choices and begin the research process.
Cursive Alert!!! We have practiced the lower case cursive alphabet (as well as some of the upper case letters). I am now requiring the use of cursive for certain assignments (short answers that don't require a great deal of thought). While some students are sure this is cruel and unusual punishment, they are all improving on this skill through the practice. You may hear loads of grumbling about it.
