Through the collaborative efforts of all who pass through our door, we provide a safe learning community that develops lifelong learners and responsible citizens.

Welcome Back!

We were very excited to see our students return on Tuesday. They had so many wonderful stories to share with us. It certainly sounds like everyone enjoyed the winter break!

New Year’s Resolution…

Please help us kick-off the New Year by reviewing with your child the importance of arriving to school on-time every day. It is so important that they are here to receive direct instruction from their teachers. The learning that occurs during group activities and class discussions cannot be replicated.

Did you know that accountability for many of our school’s academic distinctions from the state are tied to school attendance? Our minimum target attendance rate per day is 98%. We would love to have 100% attendance, but we understand that students may miss school due to illness or unforeseen circumstances.

Please help us reach our goal! We love our students and miss them when they are not here.

Please Review Important Safety Information

As we begin the new year, please take a moment to read and review the "Parent Information" page, in the attachment below. Many of the Galatas day-to-day procedures and safety information have been organized there on one convenient page.

Visit to order Galatas clothing items until January 31. Shirts will be delivered by February 14, and all sales are final.

Visit and type "Galatas" in the "Find Your School" box. The cost of the yearbook is $35, and the last day to order will be March 1, 2020.

Parents of 4th graders can also recognize their Top Dog with a Top Dog ad in the yearbook. Ads are $25 and can be created at the Balfour site, and the deadline to purchase the ads will be March 1, 2020.

Parents of 4th graders: please remember to submit your Top Dog baby pictures by January 31, 2020.

Please e-mail Janet Kwon at with any questions.

The 11th Annual Galatas Science Fair

All Galatas students are welcome to participate in the Science fair, which will be held on January 22-23, 2020. Space is limited, so reserve your spot now!

For details and forms, please visit our galatas science fair page!

Counselor's Corner

Please see the flyer below for an upcoming opportunity for parents, and students ages 10 and up. CISD will be hosting screenings of the movie Screenagers, which is a film that probes into the vulnerable corners of family life and depicts messy struggles over social media, video games and academics. The film offers solutions on how we can help our kids navigate the digital world.

If you cannot attend on the date of the flyer below, there is another opportunity to attend the screening on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. That screening will be held on The Woodlands College Park campus, at 3701 College Park Dr. The Woodlands, TX 77384.
