PTO Grants

It is time to start applying for PTO Grants. You can find the guidelines and application on the UV PTO website or by clicking these links. All grant applications are due to Danna by Friday, October 16th. Grants will be awarded by mid-November.

Odds and Ends

  • Next week your students will be bringing in old t-shirts for an upcycling project that will take place on the October Early Release Day. The bags can be sent to Jan Araniecke's room on Friday, September 25th.

  • Please complete all required Back to School Trainings by Sept. 30 and let Kim know you have completed them. There are directions in the PD folder on Google Drive.

  • FIELD TRIPS: There is a slight change in the way parents give permission for their students to attend field trips. We can no longer use a blanket permission forms that parents used to complete at the beginning of the year. Parents will have to give permission for each field trip. After you submit your field trip request form to Becky, she will create the permission form for you, make copies, and place them in your mailbox. Once a student returns their permission form please keep it in a file in your room for future reference, if needed.

  • We are asking ALL staff to park at the TASK parking lot, just like last year, for Grand Person’s Day (September 25th). Last year some staff parked in the street or in the neighborhoods, but these areas were desperately needed for our visitors. There will be a shuttle running beginning at 7:30. The shuttle will run again during lunches to allow for cars to be brought back to school. We request that all staff arrive no later than 8:00 to celebrate this special day. This is only for students with last names A-L. From 8:00 - 8:40 they will eat breakfast with their Grandperson and visit their classroom. You do not have to plan anything special. They could simply give their Grandperson a tour and read a book with them if you want. Your cooperation to help make this event a success is greatly appreciated.

  • Grandperson's Day Program Schedule: The students will practice for the program during specials on Thursday. Please drop them off in the gym and plan to pick them up from your second specials class. On Friday morning we will use the following schedule for the performances. Lori will call your classrooms when we are ready for you to come down to line up. You will line up outside the gym doors on YOUR side of the school (100 or 200 hallway). Please try to keep your students as quiet as possible.

2nd Grade (Since this is 2nd grade plan time the CAs will take the student to the library after their performance).

  • SPIRIT Meetings: Our first SPIRIT meetings for this school year are scheduled for Monday, October 12th in the office conference room. RI, SSD, Tina Kilpatrick, and administration will be at each meeting to participate in the discussion regarding each student. All SPIRIT referrals should be turned in to Kim Harrick by Thursday, October 8th. Our goal is to send out a schedule for the meetings on Friday morning, October 9th. The forms can be found in the RTI forms and protocol folder that was shared with you through Google Drive.
