What is it About?

In 1964, Lily Owens and her "stand-in mother," Rosaleen, escape to Tiburon, South Carolina - the town that holds the secret to her dead mother's past (pathos). Taken in by three black beekeeping sisters, Lily is introduced to the world of bees, honey, and the Black Madonna. This novel is about strong female power and a story that women will share and pass on to future generations (bandwagon).
