SOUTH LEBANON ELEMENTARY
5th Avenue Falcons February 2020
Notes From the Principal
I am excited to report many of the exciting events coming up during the month of February. Valentines Day is always an exciting time for our students. Many of our teachers will be having special parties and planning special events for the students. We believe that celebrating Valentines Day is a great way for students to show kindness and respect to their fellow classmates. As a reminder, School Board Policy 246 prohibits students from sharing any non-Smart Snack compliant food item. In lieu of food, items such as Notes, Stickers, Pencils, Erasers, School Supplies, Mini Games, or Notepads are encouraged.
In other news, Friday February 7, 2020 is the 100th day of school! Many of our classrooms will be having special events for this day. Our 5th grade students will be making history come alive with their history heroes reports. These are just a few of the awesome opportunities for our students to celebrate the 100th day milestone.
Reminders
- Student safety is our number one priority. In order to help keep our students safe, please remember that any adult wanting to eat lunch with a child must be listed in Skyward as a guardian or emergency contact. In the event that someone not listed in Skyward will be having lunch with your child, we must receive a note from the Guardian on record.
- Our morning drop off line is running very smoothly. In order to continue to keep this running smoothly, vehicles are not permitted to enter or exit School Grounds off of Rte. 897 between 8:40 and 9:00. All traffic should enter from the back driveway off of Evergreen and Endress Road. Please also remember to yield to buses as they are entering the parking lot.
- Even though winter has decided to go on a temporary vacation, please continue to monitor the weather. Students will go out to recess as much as possible, even in the cold. Please be sure that your child is dressed for the elements.
As always, we appreciate your continued support. Without our families and communities, we would not be able to offer the rich educational programs for our students.
Sincerely,
Mark D. Brown
