NO SCHOOL MAY 10
School Security: Locked Doors
Here's how it would look: For parent drop off and pick up, doors would be unlocked. Each day from 9:30-3:30 doors would remain locked. Non-employees will ring a doorbell and someone inside will be able to unlock the door. The door can be unlocked from a device at the front desk and also from a mobile iPad, in case someone is in the nurses office or away from the desk.
Sutton Elementary is scheduled to have this installed next year, please look for more information in the fall.

A Note From Mrs. Fisher
Happy May Day Sutton Families!
We are down to the last few weeks of school! I can’t believe how our year together has flown by. It has been such a pleasure working with your children everyday this school year. I’ve seen such wonderful growth from so many of them.
Our specials schedule remains the same for the rest of the year. Physical Education on Monday and Thursday and Music on Tuesday and Friday, with our Library day still being on Wednesday. (Please help your children get their Library books returned.)
In P.E. we have been enjoying a Soccer unit and a basic Frisbee unit along with our chasing and fleeing games. Each week I continue to remind the children how important it is to get out and play every day and to make healthy food choices.
For the remainder of the year we will be spending a lot of time outside as long as the beautiful weather continues to stay with us.
Once again, I want to thank the staff and families that have been participating in our Healthy Futures challenge. April was the last month for the Healthy Futures Challenge, but I will be talking to the children about a 100 miles in May!
We will be having a field day at the end of the year and I will be looking for volunteers to help with that, if you are interested in volunteering please let me know. More information to follow shortly.
In Music, we’ve been learning about a lot of different composers and the children should all be finished this week with their Composer presentations. Thank you to those that were able to help your children with these projects.
For the remainder of the year, we will be fine tuning our spring concert music and we will have a brief unit on Music History.
In other music news, I was very excited to have the opportunity to take a few of our students to the Music Honor Festival, at Palmer High School, on April 23rd, the children did GREAT and I look forward to taking even more students to festival next year!
As a reminder, we have a few more choir practices before the concert, please remind your students that if they are wanting to participate in choir they need to come to practice during their recess one day a week.
Thank you for your support and encouraging your children to always do their best during Specials.
Mrs. Fisher :)
Thank you!
