Make Kindness
and Finish Bullying
What is bullying?
Bullying is when someone is teasing, tormenting, spreading rumors, and hitting someone. There are many different ways of being bullied. There is cyber bullying, verbal bullying, physical bullying, social bullying, and many more horrible ways. Cyber bullying is
- "the act of harassing someone online by sending orposting mean messages, usually anonymously." (www.dictionary.reference.com) "90% of teens who have seen social-media bullying say they have ignored it. 84% have seen others tell cyber bullies to stop." "About 58% of kids admit someone has said mean or hurtful things to them online. More than 4 out 10 say it has happened more than once." (Both on http://nobullying.com/cyber-bullying-facts/) The reason why there is so much bullying around because people who have been bullied pick on the other people who are less powerful.
How can we spread kindness?
Kindness is shown when people treat each other with respect and show politeness. There are many ways we can spread kindness. One way we can is to show people respect is by holding a door for an elderly person. Treating people with respect for example you can shake hands with your teachers and coaches. Taking time to listen to others opinions and views. Always have a positive attitude and give people compliments. You can also spread kindness by helping people in need. Whether it's in a big way or a small way. For instance if their books fall you can help pick them up or if someone is hurt you can come to their assistance. Following these smile steps to show kindness and help rid the world of bulling/cyberbullying.
Step Up and Make A Change
When you see someone getting bullied you can remember some of these acts of kindness. Just moving a step forward getting involved and standing up to a bully makes you a leader and makes a change. You can report and say things to a teacher before you do anything else. Remember be a leader not a follower.
