FHHS Spotlight Artist - Jessica Boling
As the Viking Insider continues to recognize students across all activities at FHHS we unveiled a new feature recently, the "FHHS Artist Spotlight." Howell is full of many talented young students and we have several very gifted artists that we will highlight over the course of the next several weeks. This week we take a look at the work of Jessica Boling and learn more about her theme for her work.
Grade: Senior
Favorite Medium: "I prefer drawing and painting. Drawing with pencil and sharpies. Painting with Acrylic and oil."
Sustained Theme: "My theme this year for AP Art studio is the strength and power of women. In the first picture you'll see a mother holding her child. What's more powerful than the protection a mother gives to her child? In the second picture I relate power towards women in the work force. She stands out among the rest not only because of the high position of her job, but because of her determination to get there. In the last picture you'll see a face, a girl that looks sad. It focuses on emotions, both the good and the bad. The strength is when you overcome all those negative thoughts and criticisms, and come out stronger than ever before."
Works: You can view more works by Jessica below.
