Let it flow...
Welcome back!
We are all processing how we feel about not being able to return to school and what that means to each of us. So, let’s stay connected and focus on how we respond to things. We will get through this together.
Last week, we focused on breath. How is the box breathing going? This week, the focus is on flow/circulation.
We are going to help you do less and relax more by teaching you the Legs Up the Wall pose. Yes, it sounds a little funny, but it is a very precise description. We really like Legs Up the Wall pose because it is a simple technique that doesn’t require much effort but offers many benefits. The Legs Up the Wall pose will increase your positive feelings and reduce your stress by:
optimizing the oxygen level in the body system
increasing lung capacity to absorb more oxygen
relieving muscle tension (especially in the hamstrings, neck and back)
correcting hunching posture we sometimes have while working on the computer
providing uninterrupted time to tune out and focus on you (no technology), maybe consider doing your box breathing while in this position
improving sleep and mood through better blood circulation giving you a relaxed feeling
