HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 5 Friday 27 May
FROM MARK
Hi Everyone,
Wow! What a wonderful gesture! Today's 'Thank You' morning tea for staff provided by the Holy Rosary Parent community was really, really appreciated. To know we have your strong support for the work we do, is highly valued. Thank you one and all, from all of us.Please keep in your prayers our children receiving the sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday night. Another big step on their faith journey!
This morning’s mass attended by our Year One children was just lovely and provides them with the chance to witness the Eucharist. Thank you very much to Father Tom who made them so welcome. Again, many thanks to Carli Woolfrey for making the arrangements for morning tea - a nice opportunity to catch up with one another after mass. As I wrote last week, mass with the children and parishioners, followed by coffee, is a nice thing - you are most welcome to come along.
School photos next week - complete and correct school uniform makes all the difference. Thanks for your support.
And, finally, it was so good to see a big crowd at last Friday’s assembly in the gym. We started and finished a bit late but it was our first face to face one for the year! Normally, start time is 8.55 and we finish by 9.30. Congratulations to all Merit Award recipients, and congratulations to Kate, Pete and their Year Six students on a very clever and very funny assembly item. We loved it! And it was clear that your children did too.
Enjoy the weekend

Year 6 2022 Winter Sports Carnival
On Thursday June 16, all Year 6 students will be competing in the CPSSA Winter Sports Carnival. Holy Rosary has entered 1 football team, 1 soccer team and 2 netball teams in this competition. The day is designed to promote participation and fun rather than competition and as a result there are no winners on the day.
Soccer – Yokine Reserve
Football – Coolbinia Reserve
Netball – Noranda Netball Complex
On the day of the carnival students should wear their Holy Rosary Sports Uniform. They should also have a change of clothes, towel, drink bottle, mouth guards if needed and food as they will not be able to buy food at the venue. Please note the carnival will go ahead in wet weather unless lightning storms are forecast.
Students should arrive at school by 8:30am then walk down to the basketball courts at 8:40am. We will then line up in our chosen sport as the bus will be departing at 8:50 am to the various venues. The first games are scheduled to start at 10am for all sports and run all day finishing around 2:10pm. Students will then return to school buy bus unless they have otherwise organised with the school.
I would really appreciate some parent helpers and parents to coach the various teams. If you are able to help out or coach a team please email the school admin@hrs.wa.edu.au by Thursday June 2.

National Simultaneous Storytime in Kindy
LIBRARY
We loved reading our National Simultaneous Storytime book ‘Family Tree’ at the same time as children all over Australia. Check out our Holy Rosary Family Tree in the library! https://mailchi.mp/36be61a04a49/nss-2022-the-wait-is-finally-over?e=9d99d65bc0
Along with some spectacular tree books, our focus this week has been on our Indigenous authors and National Sorry Day and the importance of knowing our history and how to say sorry so we can help with healing.

OUR P & F NEWS
What better way to end Yay week than provide a Thank you morning tea for all school staff from all parents and families at Holy Rosary.
We gave a live thank you presentation at morning tea and left a note of thanks on the staff room Whiteboard. Here it is in full…..
A very small token to express our Thanks to you all.
During this pandemic you have at times been in the firing line but we are very grateful for all you’ve done to keep our school open and offering as many programs/events as possible. You have helped instill calm & normality in our children’s lives. We are in awe of your flexibility, including offering online learning when necessary & checking in on those who are absent or perhaps have a lot of Illness in the family.
Your dedication & efforts are much appreciated.
Our heart felt Thank you
The HR Parent Community
Thanks Kellie for contributing to our P&F meetings again this term.
